| The most important thing you need for Salsa is enthusiasm, willingness to learn and persistence. |
With persistence most people soon learn to overcome this most common fallacy. |
No worries! Many people come on their own. Even if you bring a partner we encourage you to dance with others as it provides a better learning experience.
Don’t be - we’re a friendly bunch. Like most social interaction, the more you do it the more natural it becomes.
‘Smart-casual’ is what most people wear. Loose, cool and comfortable is what we suggest.
For social events it’s common, but not essential, to add a bit of Latin bias |
Avoid those with grip soles i.e. trainers. Smooth soles are preferable. Flip-flops, mules or other loose shoes are a no-no! If you want to buy shoes designed for dancing, one local supplier is Beverley Dancewear (above the music shop in Norwood, Beverley: 01482 881584)

PLEASE - BE NICE TO BE NEAR. Dancing requires fairly close contact. Bad breath & Body Odour are unpleasant.
If you can walk you can dance. However, just as we all learnt to walk at different times in our development, the same is true of dancing so patience also helps.

Club Salsa classes always start with a short warm up routine. This may appear complex to newcomers but don’t panic, you’ll soon get the hang of it.
